On Sunday, August 1, Bebe and Howie picked up Morgan and Aimee upon their arrival at Burlington from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. They would bed at the Warren Lodge until August 5 before returning to Jackson. On Monday, Leslie and Blaise arrived by car, having spent several days in Little Falls, NY. Dana, Aimé and Béa arrived from Québec, and Kristen and Tom arrived in an RV which was parked next to our home. Thus we had a full house with eleven for dinner and breakfast the following day. Quite a switch from a year and a half of near isolation due to Covid risks.
August 3rd, the big day, began with a climb by Morgan, Leslie, Blaise, Aimee, Béa, Kristen and Aimé to the top of Burnt Rock.
The party began at 5 PM at the Mad River Barn and 40+ family and friends arrived to celebrate and enjoy an open bar and a parade of appetizers, meal selections and desserts compliments of Leslie and Blaise. Smiling faces could be found everywhere. Here are Loretta, Béa and Aimé.
The reading of a letter from Claude, who was prevented from attending by Covid travel restrictions brought tears to our eyes…
…as did a song by Kristen, Dana, Béa and Aimé.
Before leaving the Mad River Barn we assembled family members behind the barn.
The following day, August 4, turned out to be Aimee’s birthday, so we celebrated on the patio.
